Storm Drain Services
R.E.I.T./M&H can maintain your storm drains in functioning condition. If you encounter a problem with your storm drain, we have the equipment and technical experience to clean up quickly.
When a storm occurs, the excess water flows directly into local creeks and eventually the ocean with out being treated. The untreated water can cause harm to wildlife and people who live near the polluted water.
Federal, State, and local laws require anyone engaged in an activity that might pollute storm water to take all practical measures to reduce pollutants.
We can provide erosion control services so that your storm drains meet all Federal and State laws.
Erosion Control
- We will avoid excavation and grading activities during wet weather.
- We will remove existing vegetation only when necessary.
- Where replanting is not feasible, we will use secured plastic sheeting or filter fabric to stabilize and protect exposed soils, stockpiled topsoil, and landscaping materials.
- To protect down-slope drainage courses, streams, or catch basins we will use hay bales or temporary drainage swales.
- Once excavation and grading activities are complete, we will plant permanent vegetation as soon as possible.
- We will construct diversion dikes and drainage swales to channel runoff around the site.
- To divert runoff around exposed areas we will construct berms and drainage ditches.
- We will roughen other surfaces by adding rip rap, sandbags, rocks, hay bales, or temporary means.
